The International Rafting Federation (IRF) is the world body that oversees competitive raft racing across the world. SA has sent teams in the past but the sport has been neglected in recent years. All this is set to change! SA now has a fleet of purpose built rafts that will form the basis on future selection events for international competitions, including the World Champs. The GRAVITY ADVENTURE FESTIVAL has been selected as the official launch event. This will not be an official selection event but just a fun event to get the new rafts wet!

Fabric for the rafts has been generously sponsored by Mehler Texnologies and manufactured here in Cape Town by ARK Inflatables. There are four 4 man rafts in the fleet and this will provide the much needed platform to kick start competitive rafting in SA once again! The next world champs are in South America in 2011.
